Find Houston Busted Mugshots

Houston busted mugshots don't come from a city-run gallery. When police in Houston make an arrest, the case may start with city officers, pass into county custody, and then land in court. Three questions come up fast. Is the person still held? Which agency wrote it down? How do you get the record? For a live custody answer, call the facility first. For a report or booking record, go to the agency that handled the event. The court file is where the outcome lives.

Houston Arrests and Busted Records

Houston is the largest city in Chickasaw County. It also serves as one of its county seats. The 2020 Census place table lists 3,797 residents. Houston Police Department handles municipal calls inside the city limits. The Chickasaw County Sheriff, though, has authority across the entire county. A Houston arrest might therefore start with a city officer or another agency, and anyone held in county custody generally lands at the Chickasaw County Regional Correctional Facility, called CCRCF, in Houston.

Two records answer two different questions. Houston PD keeps the police report describing what its officers saw. For current county custody, the jail docket, and any booking photograph in a file, ask the sheriff and CCRCF. The official MDOC facility page describes CCRCF as a regional facility run under the sheriff's authority with MDOC involvement. So the building's location alone doesn't make someone a state prisoner.

A Houston arrest entry, booking line, or photo is just a record of a stop and a hold. What it does not do is settle the case. A charge can shrink, vanish, or end in some other way. The paper trail that truly tells the story is the court disposition.

Need the wider county picture? The Chickasaw County records route lays out every path. It covers the phone, written-request, court, and state-custody options in full. It helps most when you're not sure which agency made the arrest. It also fits Houston cases that involve the sheriff, state officers, or a transfer between them.

Where Houston Busted Mugshots Appear

Houston has no verified official arrest blotter. There is no daily bulletin, public booking-results page, or photo roster either. So skip any claimed online list. The practical route is direct contact with a targeted request. The channels below run in order. They start with the office that creates or controls the record, then news, then the one verified commercial county index.

Channel Record or photo status How to use it
Houston Police Department Originating incident and arrest information; no verified public blotter or photo page Call and ask for the records custodian, then submit a written request for the incident record.
CCRCF Current county-custody confirmation; no verified public online roster or photo display Call the facility to ask whether a person is currently housed, released, or transferred.
Chickasaw County Sheriff Jail docket, booking record, and a possible booking photograph, subject to review Make a written Mississippi Public Records Act request with identifying details.
MDOC inmate search State custody or MDOC supervision, not every new Houston booking Search by name or MDOC ID after a state transfer or sentence.
WCBI and WTVA Selected Houston or county events, not complete custody records Use a story as a date-and-agency lead, then confirm the event with the official record holder.
Mugshots.com Chickasaw County Unofficial county-level commercial index, not a Houston section or county roster Check any entry against the sheriff, facility, and court because items can be stale or incomplete.

One caution about that last row. It is not an official source. It proves nothing about current custody, a complete city list, or any court result. It's simply the only major commercial index with a verified Chickasaw County section; no Houston-specific commercial section checks out. For the actual records, Houston Police Department, CCRCF, the sheriff, and the court remain the sources that count.

Note: A booking file may contain a photograph even though no official public photo roster exists.

Find Busted Houston Bookings

Start with the question, not the office. A live custody question belongs at CCRCF. A question about what the officer saw belongs at Houston PD. Since there's no official public roster or same-day county feed, a name missing online settles nothing. The arrest may have happened anyway, the person may have been released quickly, or another agency may have handled the booking entirely.

  1. Call CCRCF at 662-456-3319 and ask whether the person is presently housed, released, transferred, or held for another agency. Give the most exact name and an approximate arrest date.
  2. If the event began with city police, call Houston Police Department at 662-456-5065. Ask which office is the records custodian for the incident report and whether county custody followed.
  3. For the jail docket, booking record, or a booking photograph, call the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department at 662-456-2339 before sending a written request. Include the person's full name, approximate date, arresting agency, and booking number if known.
  4. If the person no longer appears to be held, request the historical jail-docket or booking record rather than treating release as deletion. Ask for the basis of any redaction and all non-exempt portions.
  5. After a state transfer or sentence, use the MDOC search by name or MDOC ID. For a case outcome, follow the court path instead of reading a current-custody answer as a verdict.

The Mississippi Public Records Act allows requests to inspect or copy records under reasonable written procedures. It never promises an instant image. A separate jail-docket statute, Section 19-25-63, requires the sheriff to keep a public docket with core custody history. Keep the request narrow. Name one person or one date range instead of asking for a broad batch of images.

Houston Police Records Requests

For a city police incident report, Houston PD is the right desk. Its public department page names Chief Adam Harmon. But there's no verified records-unit line, records form, local fee schedule, arrest log, or guaranteed response time. So call first. Ask for the records custodian. Then describe what you want by person, date, incident, and arresting agency. If the city department didn't book the person, file a separate county request for the jail record.

Houston Police Department

Chief: Adam Harmon
Telephone: 662-456-5065

The Houston Police Department official page lists the department contact for an originating-event request.

Houston Police Department official page for Houston busted mugshots records

The department page supports a direct records inquiry. It is not an online arrest roster or a booking-photo gallery. A county custody request stays separate from it.

A written request can cite Mississippi Code Sections 25-61-1 through 25-61-19. Ask to inspect or copy the specified incident record. For a county booking file, write to the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department, 130 Lancaster Circle, Houston, MS 38851. Say whether electronic copies work. Request a fee estimate before any copying or staff work begins. If anything gets withheld, ask for the statutory reason in writing.

Timing follows a set framework. When no written procedure exists, access should come within one working day. A written procedure may allow production or denial up to seven working days after receipt. That's a response rule. It is not a promise that a photo arrives on the spot. No Houston or Chickasaw booking-photo fee is on record, so have the agency state its copying, search, labor, redaction, certification, or delivery charges in writing.

CCRCF Custody and Houston Bookings

CCRCF sits at 120 Lancaster Circle in Houston. Its published phone number is 662-456-3319. After a Houston arrest, that facility is where a county-custody question starts. The regional setup adds a wrinkle, though. A person can be held in Houston while later status falls to state custody, which is why a call to the facility and a check of the MDOC locator answer two different questions.

Status Best starting point What it does not prove
Just booked CCRCF and the sheriff A public feed has not been verified, so online silence is not a reliable answer.
In current county custody CCRCF at 662-456-3319 Current custody is not a conviction or final court result.
Released or transferred Sheriff request for the jail docket or booking record Leaving current custody does not erase the historical booking record.
State-sentenced or MDOC supervised MDOC inmate search The state locator is not a substitute for a new Houston booking record.

Chickasaw County has no verified online roster for Houston bookings, no set publication schedule, and no confirmed policy on posting photos. So work the phones. Ask the facility about current custody first. Then ask the sheriff's office for the docket. That docket should lay out the warrant or mittimus, who issued it, the prisoner's name, the receipt, the arrest or commitment dates, the cause, the custody authority, time held, and who ordered release or discharge. Those are the details a records request can get you. None of it depends on anything appearing on a website.

Houston News Is Event-Based

Houston arrest coverage runs on events. It does not run on a daily booking list. WCBI's 2025 Houston shooting report is a good local example. It covers an arrest and the responding agencies, but it is not a custody roster for the city. WTVA's Chickasaw stories work the same way, documenting selected investigations and sheriff statements. A report can pin down a date, an agency, or a court question. The agency file still holds the underlying record.

Older material lives elsewhere. The Chickasaw Journal archive carries past county and Okolona arrest stories. Houston has its own Times-Post newspaper history. None of it amounts to a current Houston blotter. Timing is the trap. News can break before any jail entry exists, after a release, or without enough detail to tell you the final charge. So a story may say law enforcement acted while a phone inquiry shows nothing yet. For a fuller picture of how outlets cover these events, see Mugshots in the News.

Houston Court Record Follow-Up

A booking opens the local record path. It does not close it. Houston falls inside Chickasaw's First District. The First District courthouse sits at 1 Pinson Square in Houston. For circuit criminal-file routing, call the First District Circuit Clerk at 662-456-2331. Houston Justice Court uses 662-456-3941. Houston Municipal Court uses 662-456-2328, per the county court directory.

The Mississippi Courts useful-links page connects to statewide court resources and Court Explorer information. Not every Justice Court record reaches the same electronic path. Route your search through the correct clerk or court. That is how you confirm a case number, charge history, hearing status, and disposition. Charges can be amended, dismissed, nolle prossed, reduced, resolved through non-adjudication, or settled by plea or trial. The court file is what tells you where a Houston case actually stands. A news story or a phone custody answer will not.

Houston Busted Records Timing

No verified schedule exists for when a Houston booking shows up online. Chickasaw County has no official same-day feed, multi-day list, or public archive. The paper trail often sits in pieces. One part may rest with the police agency that made the stop. Another may sit with CCRCF, the sheriff, or the court. A lag can mean intake processing, a fast release, a transfer, a citation with no jail time, an outside-agency hold, or a record that is simply restricted from release.

The county news record shows why an event and a booking are not the same thing. WTVA's August 2026 Okolona report covered law-enforcement activity, yet jail records showed no booking when the story ran. Okolona is not Houston. Even so, the same county facility and the same request path apply. Treat the jail, the sheriff, and the court as separate channels rather than one seamless record.

Who you call depends on the question. CCRCF answers who is in custody right now. The sheriff holds the jail docket and booking record for the historic sequence. The court is where the legal outcome lives. That order works within the limits of Houston's published systems. It also keeps an unofficial list from being mistaken for a complete record.

Note: A custody answer can shift after bond, release, transfer, or an outside hold, so keep the response date when you chase the docket.
